How I wish there were
a cup with tea in it
where anger and resentment
dissolved like sugar
You and I could drink
from it
with many gladness
as it poured out with forgiveness
from a pot, reaching little cups
We could share one
tasting what each gets
you in my shoes;
and I in yours,
there let be understanding
there goes the fears
here comes our friendship
But if ever there were
this cup of tea
would you drink
of it
with me?
